What a refreshing way to start a blog. So I’ve decided to update again for 2 reasons.

1. I like writing my thoughts and then having other people express their thoughts on my thoughts.
2. I want to have a shower at 5.30 and I have 7 minutes left and I had nothing to do in 7 minutes so I thought I’d update this, which will probably take longer than 7 minutes but oh well.

So. I would firstly like to say that I am very sad I have school tomorrow. I’ve done so much in these holidays I feel like I still need another week just to rest. Don’t think I’ll be getting it

On a more positive note, KYCKstart was awesome!!! Words cannot express how fantastic it was. I’m sure if you are reading this and you went too you will totally agree with me. I think it’s been my best kyck so far, and I’ve been to three.

Ok, so most of you are probably like What’s KYCK? Good question. It’s a youth Christian convention held at Katoomba that lasts for the weekend and features guest speakers, great worship, live bands, and cool other stuff.

The topic this year was FOLLOW, (hence my title) so like who will you follow etc. It was really really challenging and I feel like a new person, it’s a great feeling.  To know that the only thing that matters in this world is spreading the Gospel and living for Christ is such a great thing. I don’t need to worry. I don’t need to store up things on this earth. When I meet Jesus face to face he isn’t going to be asking me for a list of my maths test results. He’ll be asking me what did I do for his kingdom. And I want to be able to confidently answer that I lived my life for Him. I don’t want to have wasted my life.

So yeah, it was really worthwhile. They also did this dance comp thing for the evening entertainment, and me and some other girls from  my youth group made up this fully awesome dance in like an hour and auditioned and it was sooooooooooo good but we didnt get in. BUT, we came number 7……and they took the top 6, but we had the same mark as another group and it was very frustrating. Ohh well, it was still a really sick dance.

Oh, and anyone else who went, mainly Fonge, didn’t you think the tall lanky dance guy, Chris I think, was cute? I did, haha. Thought I’d share that with you all.

 Ok, well its currently 5.55, and I still haven’t had a shower and I’m very wet cos I was outside and then it started bucketing down again. So I think I actually will go have a shower now.

I really don’t like it how you feel embarassed to tell your friends you got an 80 in maths or something because everyone else is getting higher, and and 80 is soo low, when really its fantastic.

I don’t like it how people brag about when they get really good marks and are really smug about it but when they get a “bad” mark, (more like and 80) they get all withdrawn and defensive about telling people what they got. Now everyone is allowed to keep it to themselves if they want and that’s fine, but I think it’s stupid when people keep it themselves only cos they think it’s a “bad mark”.

I know I probably sound like a grumbling cynic but it just annoys me how much emphasis is placed on being the top and doing well in school life.

Reality check guys, school isn’t that important. I’m not saying not to try, by all means try your heart out, I’m planning on doing well next year too, but keep things in perspective.

You don’t have to be the best at everything to be successful. You don’t even have to be the best at anything. And if you’re not the best, you’re no different, no worse.

Because in the end, it really doesn’t matter.

So, I haven’t really got much to say. It’s my birthday tomorrow though which is pretty cool I suppose.

I was going to write some really deep stuff here, you know, get things off my chest, but I don’t think I will. I’m not in the mood. Besides, I don’t like…saying stuff like that I guess.

So instead I’m going to promote a really cool band. They are called Boston…and are really cool. I’m listening to their greatest hits album at the moment, which was a wonderful birthday gift from Maddie.

They’re one of those really cool bands that have heaps good music, as in the kind of music you can dance around in your room singing loudly to….which is always lots of fun.

Oh, I thought of something interesting to say. Today we found out the SRC results. To be honest, I was very surprised at the results, I didn’t really expect it at all. And although the person I really wanted to be President didn’t get it, I’m still really happy for the person who did get it, cos she is still one of my really good friends and I’m sure she’ll be great. And that’s all I’m going to say on the matter.
